Mixed Nuts

Time to print off my family blog book! Best ending is to post pictures of these nutty kids pulling their crazy poses.  (P.S. Watch out when you take selfies on our gadgets Grandma Julie-good thing its a really cute one!).

Ring in the New!

The top picture is just a throw-in, but I like it! Below that is our fun New Year's Eve with the Martineau's.  Aunt Lyndsay's spiffy glasses helped her draw some awesome telestrations.  Garrett and Shay also really got into it.  And on the bottom is our fun time in the snow on New Year's day, thanks to Gpa Martineau getting out his snowmobile and 4 wheeler.  Last is a picture of our snow shoeing trip to City of Rocks on January 3rd.  We went with Boyd and Peter, and left Abrie with the Gibbons.  It was super fun and it was beautiful conditions.  Alyza really wanted to go but she really didn't want to exert herself, so our pace was super slow.  But isn't it usually a child who makes us slow down and enjoy what your doing? Happy 2015!

Temple Square

Temple square visit and Deseret Book in SLC.  Temple Square is such a special place to go with your family, and especially when there's lights to boot.  We also got to enjoy this time with the Turpins which doubles our fun every time.  The missionaries kept thinking we were one big family, so we told them Matt was the dad since he had a beard.

Let it Be Christmas!

Christmas Eve, kids in their new jammies! A run down of Christmas Eve: we had a special lunch at home: cheesy potato soup with yummy chocolate pie for dessert and sparkling Martinelli's to drink.  We went to Gma/Gpa Bingham's for Swedish Christmas Eve where certain Swedish customs are observed in honor of the Swedish ancestors. We acted out the nativity in full costume with Katie and Andrews kids.  It was a great night.  Christmas day was wonderful. No illness this year and got to spend time having fun in our pjs most of the day.  Best gifts were: legos, bow and arrow, Elsa barbie, snow shoes, and more.  The Christmas snow was extra awesome-it began at 10 p.m. and fell through the next morning, making the world beautiful white when we woke up.  Hope you all had a Merry Christmas and that it can stay in our hearts.

Adventures

In December, Matt's co-worker KC took Matt and the boys sturgeon fishing.  KC's dad is actually the one with the boat, and is sort of the guide.  He cooked stew for them in the boat while they fished; the boys said it was really good.  Shay got to reel one in which was over 6 foot.  Matt also caught one.  Garrett caught a nice squaw fish.  They all had a fun time!

 Matt and Annie got to go to a Steelheads hockey game.  Here's the mascot up close to the window.  The action was really close to us, the puck hit the glass right in front of us a lot and the players did too.

Last is pictures of the 12/30 Jazz vs. Timberwolves game.  The kids had a blast.  Abrie liked eating lots of M&Ms and wandering around.  Alyza and Shay really liked the food and great company (Turpins, Lloyds, Larsens--lotta fun!).  Garrett liked the food of course and screaming himself hoarse so the Jazz could scrape a win at the end.  They also got to pick out a souvenir thanks to Gma and Gpa Martineau's Christmas money.

Christmas is coming!

Leading up to Christmas, as you will see below...twice to the Festival of Trees we did go.  Once to hear Garrett play Jingle Bells on the piano.  Once to hear Shay sing many carols.  Also in December, our dear friend Santa Claus we did visit.  Even to our home, he came in for a minute. Last, note Alyza and her cute Christmas tree, and how she frosts Christmas cookies all dressed for the beach.  Another memorable Christmas season!
