Fixin' it Up

I have myself a husband who is constantly pursuing a project.  This is not a bad thing.  The urban chicken coop gets a coat of paint (as well as the children involved), and the patio gets a new look (which I love).  Abrie wearing her crown upside down? Has not a thing to do with this post, but it is cute and she does it all the time.

Halloweeny

Halloween fun! We had to make a graveyard for our FHE treat.  We indulged in some school spirit and did crazy hair for red ribbon week.  We practiced lots of Elsa hair, and essentially we just let it all go.  It was fun, and yet I was glad when it was over!  The childrens' costumes were: Garrett=Chief Joseph, Shay=Football player, Alyza=Who else but Elsa, Abrie=Minion!

YW Fun

For mutual we had a night learning some photography skills with Cindy Lynn Steele.  She grew up in our ward (she was Matt's classmate) and has blossomed into a talented, fun loving photographer.  She generously donated her night to taking our pictures and teaching us some photography tips.  We loved it! And as you can see, I love being in YW.  These girls are all fun, all different, and they make me smile.

What is Fall?

Fall = Leaf Joy and at least a trip or two to a pumpkin patch.  Check and check.

Celebrating...Shay! And more!

Shay turned 7 in October! This boy is a lot of fun as you can see!
He had a friend party with Ben, Peyton, and Parker.
Kind of a camping, outdoorsy theme you might say.  The treasure hunt yielded mallow roasting supplies.
A Halloween party at Gma & Gpa Martineau's duo-ed as a birthday party for Shay and Shelby.
And then we got to party at home with the Bingham side.  Shay designed his farm cake.
For the cousin Halloween party Abrie and I debuted as Lucy from Despicable Me 2 and her adorable minion.
Gotta love the cousin Halloween party.  I wonder what would happen if Harry Potter and Elsa were to battle?

Football Star

Our family tried out a new sport this year, and Shay was the guinea pig.  Football! He loved it, we enjoyed watching.  Fall sports are kind of nice, though towards the end it was getting dark at the games! His coaches were so positive and uplifting with the kids, it was a great experience.

JDRF Diabetes Walk

September in this house means Diabetes Walk! We raise money which goes to JDRF's research for a cure for type 1 diabetes, and then we go the Snake River Landing and walk with other families who are affected by T1D.  It is a positive thing in our lives and the money is being used for life changing prospects.  Look up Islet Encapsulation when you have a minute, this would be so cool if this worked out Islet Encapsulation.

Family trip to McCall, ID

We got to accompany Matt on a business trip to McCall ID.  This was a totally new location for us! It's about 2 1/2 hours straight north of the Boise area.  Beautiful fall colors! We hiked at Ponderosa State Park, taking the Meadow Marsh trail--we loved it! The playground was fabulous, and we were so spoiled with fabulous accomadations--we could see the lake out the door of our hotel. Garrett could not stop repeating the word "luxurious!" Way fun!
