Valley Ag Basketball Team 2013

Garrett's basketball team, coached by his dad.  I can't tell you all their names, but it has been a fun experience.  A few kids on the team like to be a one man show, not one a lot of passing.  So it's been interesting, but it has been a fun experience, Matt's first time as a coach.  Garrett's favorite part about being on a team is goofing off with teammates and opponents.  That's a good tactic for distracting the opposition you know.  Shay has been an excellent assistant coach, and we really should gotten him to be in the picture.

Lake Walcott

Matt took Alyza and Shay to Lake Walcott the other day while I helped with art fair at Garrett's school.  Looks like they had fun.

Welcome to Miami

Matt & I got to go to Miami Beach for a work-related trip for him.  There wasn't much work about it, lots of fun is what there was.  We rented a car to tourist around in, imagine Matt's disappointment (not really) when they gave us a Ford Mustang.  This guy was making me car sick in his Miami driving and his desperation to gun this thing to see how fast it would go.
 Miami Beach
It was fun to see the East Coast.  It has a more greenish look to the water.
 The Everglades at sunset
We did see a few gators on our airboat tour.  Our guide was nuts, I'm not sure if he was lying half the time, but he made it a fun tour.

Bayside marketplace--a mall we went to, right on the bay; ate at Bubba Gump shrimp for dinner.
We toured Vizcaya Mansion and gardens, the gardens were full of amazing cement work.  It was like walking from one room into another room.  These were built by VP of McCormick-Deering farm equipment, about 100 years ago.  He was big into Italian culture, art, structures.
 the mansion
more gardens--I wish we could do family pictures here!
Part of this guy's decoration scheme--a half sunk concrete ship, that you could row out to.
The orchid gardens--see how their roots stick out?  These things would be toast in Idaho, right?
The guy doing the animal show, holding a big fat toad.  I would only touch that thing with a weapon.  Maybe a baseball bat.  He put on a fun show.  In summary, we had a great time.  We thank the watchers of our children who did a great job entertaining them so we could go and play.
